After a family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Then the pace picks up and the laughs start to spread quickly
There are too many plots unfolding in this movie and not all of them are interesting enough for us to care. It’s great to see Michael Keaton reprise one of his most famous roles. He slips back into that striped suit as if he hadn’t been noticed. However, the film comes alive (doesn’t it become dead?) only in the last third of the film.
Then it’s too late
The original Beetlejuice was perfect. The sequel is a good example of why people say perfection is something you shouldn’t bother with.
