In season 8, Angel Batista wasn’t always played by David Sayas
He’s smart. He’s lovable. He’s America’s favorite serial killer, Dexter Morgan, who spends his nights solving crimes and committing them. His son, David Sayas Jr., took over for his father in some of the shootings because they both looked alike.

Throughout the first season, Dexter has a large scar on his left side. Later, in season two, the scar was moved to the right side, leaving the left side without any marks. Dexter Morgan: I lived in the dark for a long time. Over the years, the darkness became my world and my eyes adjusted until I could see.

In the realm of cinematography and screenwriting, it’s a good idea to limit the character narrative, letting the action, dialogue, and scenes speak for themselves. However, if there’s an exception, his name is Dexter! From the start, I was drawn to the character of Dexter – a dark, introverted man. The strength of the character development is clear, enhanced by an impeccable cast and a compelling, crime-filled plot.
Seasons 1 and 2 were particularly standout, earning a commendable rating of 9/10
However, the quality of the series began to decline thereafter. The introduction of new characters and excessive drama weighed heavily on what was once a classic series. While I loved the characters, I felt their charm, including Debra’s, gradually waned. The writing and direction were strong, but Dexter himself stood out as the towering centerpiece, with his portrayal of dark humor remaining a standout.
It was completely gripping
His episodic narrative was a unique perspective from which we learned how he looked at things, people, and crimes. I recommend this series, but I encourage viewers to approach it at their own pace and choose how many episodes they want to enjoy. However, I must emphasize that the first two seasons are a must-watch and should not be missed.
