Four kids make a mysterious discovery on their home planet that leads them to a strange and dangerous galaxy. Jude Law stars in “The Skeleton Team” and more from a galaxy far, far away. The holographic circus that entertains Neil’s younger siblings is the same one Chewbacca’s family watches in the infamous holiday special of Star Wars (1978). AniMat (2022) featured Crazy Cartoon Lineup: Stupid Old Deadly Bear. I watched the first two episodes, and they were clearly asking to create a “babies in space” show, so what’s wrong with that? This is a completely different take on the story that exists in the Star Wars universe. I loved how a suburban town would look in this world, because we’ve never seen it before. The area from Alien reminded me more of the city they came from than anything we’ve seen on the show recently. The four main characters are generic but likable, each with their own clearly defined roles within the group, and the actors played them well. The pirate vibe isn’t necessarily what we’ve seen before, but it adds a spooky element and a sense of danger. It’s a perfect fit for an 80s movie. So far, I’m enjoying the new storytelling elements in the Star Wars universe, the hints of nostalgia for the movies from my childhood, and the fact that I can share this Star Wars experience with my kids.
