Exploring key moments from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and turning them on their head, taking audiences into uncharted territory. Chadwick Boseman’s final Marvel project before his death. The Observer: [Introduction to each episode] Time. Space. Reality. It’s more than a linear path. It’s a prism of infinite possibilities, where a single choice can branch out into infinite realities, creating alternate worlds than the ones you know. I am the Watcher. I am your guide through these vast new realities. Follow me and ponder the question… “What if?” Once the Marvel logo appears, it transitions into an animated form in the show’s art style. Edited in Marvel Studios: Legends: Guardians of the Multiverse (2023). A very clear episode of rushing to fit those pieces into the puzzle. My facial expressions were also pretty direct while watching this episode as there was no emotion or even logical narration. I understand that it may be an animated show aimed at kids. But only those kids who are familiar with the entire MCU so far will be able to enjoy it. We’ll see how the rest of the episodes play out but I’m certainly not too excited about them after this one. Edit: The second episode gave the true feel of what the MCU is all about, it was creative and thoughtful with important WHAT IF moments. I had a lot of fun seeing T’challa back on screen. However, the third episode was a dud and made me edit this review. It was so thrilling and exciting to watch that I could have watched an entire movie for this episode. It re-explores the characters we know on a level that leaves you wanting more. I hope to get to a 10 star edit by the end of the season. Edit II: Here’s my one star for “weird” but it was still a thought-provoking episode that was the best of the bunch in terms of writing, dubbing, animation, and plot. Special mention to Benedict Cumberbatch for nailing the voice like a boss. Kudos to Marvel for making this one. However, coming into the fifth episode, the episode was certainly entertaining, fun, and engaging with quality animation, but again, it showed too much at once, not giving viewers enough time to absorb things. Still, 9/10 overall for the series at least until the next two episodes. They need to get past episode 4 to get a 10 from me.
