The subtitle of the film "Folie a Deux" means “Madness of two”; in French
Story
Struggling with his dual identity, failed comedian Arthur Fleck meets the love of his life, Harley Quinn, in prison at Arkham State Hospital. . In addition, Gaga talks about how she got into her dark character and how she stayed in it. This initially led to speculation that Harley Quinn would appear in the film, which was confirmed shortly after. The name Folie a Deux comes from the 19th century French psychiatrists Charles Lasègue and Jules Falret. The term was coined to refer to two or more people who share the same madness or delusion.

Jury president talks about “People of New York”; instead of Gotham City. This is because the State of New York is the plaintiff in the criminal trial, and this version of Gotham City is evidently located in New York State (most versions place Gotham in New Jersey). The film opens with the Looney Tunes title sequence, with the Warner Bros logo surrounded by rings and the Joker’s face. Rating is 6/10 Watched September 30, 2024 @ Fans First Premiere (First Look) Format: (Digital) IMAX Todd Phillips repeats exactly what he did in The Hangover trilogy with Joker 2. The director continues with a sequel that is unfortunately empty and lacks no character development. Phillips has outdone himself in directing the film, which has excellent cinematography/visuals that portray every feeling and emotion he wants to say and convey. BUT, he failed to create a compelling story. From the first part to the second, the characters of the film mostly change. Their arc either dips or tilts.
Events/obstacles come their way to change their lives
OR a new character/s enters their lives, opening the door for more interesting events to come, resulting in “Folie à Deux”. In this movie, Joker/Arthur Fleck’s life doesn’t seem to change too much with the addition of Gaga’s character, Lee. Instead, the film constantly repeats its events by revisiting the past (the first Joker film) or reacting to some of its scenes. He also keeps going back and forth to the same places and events in this movie itself. The result is an overall boring movie that is ONLY visually entertaining. This film introduces two main characters in the world of Gotham, Harvey Dent, played terribly by Harry Lawtey and written even worse.
But the choice of songs was not right
By the end of the movie I felt he was useless and being used for his 'name' within comic fandom. The same goes for Lady Gaga’s Lee, which just felt like it wasn’t in this movie either. I loved how this movie uses music/songs to show that it is an ESCAPE for our insides. On the other hand, Gaga or Joaquin Phoenix and the cameramanship of Lawrence Sher handled their performance brilliantly.
