Story
When he drives drunk, Mark loses his driver’s license and has to take the MPA. During the course, he meets Helena and tries to sober up with her, but temptations are lurking everywhere..
So, as always, there’s no point in saying anything
After Mark’s first failed attempt to sober up, Helen mentions that he’s only been sober for 27 days [00:41:50]. Later [00:42:35] in Mark’s apartment, he points out the calendar pages he’s pinned to, showing that he’s only been sober for 25 days.
And the movie makes that clear from the beginning
They even talk to our main character and tell him what he’s thinking. It doesn’t register with him – at least not to the point where it helps him or makes him change anything.
Lo is a great actor, and he really gives it his all
The story is predictable but hang in there because you’re captivated by the performances – which include the other players (Tschirner is just one). Cliché and suspension of disbelief go hand in hand – or should, that is.
