Remake of Day of the Jackal (1973)
Story
Jackal is an inscrutable killer who makes his living by carrying out attacks for the highest reward. He soon meets his match in a persistent British intelligence officer, who tracks him down in an exciting cat-and-mouse chase across Europe.. "Day of the Jackal" The novel is set in 1963 and involves an assassination attempt on the then president of France, Charles de Gaulle. The game moves the action to the present. Spy/spy/assassin movies have always been my absolute favorite, from my earliest memories of James Bond to Mission Impossible and Jason Bourne, to movies like Shooter, Day of the Jackal (original) and The Jackal, Leon, professional and the list. continues.

This is just another great series in a long list of great series. With Eddie Redmayne in the lead and he’s really awesome, this series is great. I’ve worked with guns most of my life, been around guns my whole life, and personally have a gun license – it’s very easy to see that experts and military people were brought in to consult on this show. It definitely creates credibility… which is great to see. The entire cast seems to get along pretty well…
But after 5 episodes
I first saw Lashana Lynch in the latest James Bond and to be honest I didn’t think her performance was anything special. I actually thought it was terrible. Unlike previous actresses of color (if that was the intention), and lo and behold, she falls far short of the mark when compared to the excellent Halle Berry or even the legendary Grace Jones. He felt wooden, flat, uninspiring, frankly, without merit or talent. But I thought maybe he was just smoking James Bond, “give him another shot”. he’s just a clumsy.
Hell, what about Thandiwa Newton, FANTASTIC!!!
I don’t know what your job was before acting, but you might be thinking about getting back into it. I think the casting of Lashana Lynch was bad to be honest. Personally, Idris Elba would be an extremely good choice as an MI6 agent. If you need a colorful British woman, Christine Adams is great! So many great choices and they chose the cardboard cutout. If you can ignore the basically hopeless Lashana Lynch, the series is great.

Too bad it’s going to be a mini-series and not a multi-season series that would be something special. I think Eddie Redmayne should seriously consider other spy shows because he’s fascinating to watch and this show would get a 10/10 if it weren’t for Lynch’s terrible casting.. "Silos" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
